Welcome to the wonderful world of Lavender Crafts

This webpage is to showcase my hand-crafted products that I produce right here in my kitchen in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow.  The products include soap bars, shampoo bars, body butters and lavender pillows, while also reigniting my love of making candles!!  You can also find information about the all-natural ingredients, click here, and the eco-friendly packaging that I use, some that I even make myself!!

The reason I chose to base my range around the lavender was for me, there is both an easy and a more complicated answer!!

The easy answer is that I love its scent, I love the look of a field of lavender and of course purple is my favourite colour, which makes it the perfect match for me! It has become my big dream to have a lavender farm of my own!!

The more complicated answer is that I have suffered from social and general anxiety for most of my life and for a time I also added depression into the mix for a few years!! Individually they can be tough conditions to live with but all together they can be overwhelming!! So during that time, with the help of therapy and my fantastic family, I decided that I wanted to find a way to make an income for myself and try to achieve a life style that would positively impact my mental health!!

Another reason is that lavender is an age-old remedy for calming and soothing the nerves, improving mood and relaxing muscles.  It can also be used to aid and induce restful sleep.  Why wouldn’t you want to capture all that in some beautiful hand-crafted products!!

And so, Lavender Crafts was born and I built range of products that use lavender where possible. The big idea is to eventually have a farm where I can grow my own lavender and space to be able to pursue my love of being creative.  I have began the exciting journey of growing my own lavender, I am still at the early stages of these plants and we did get the first flowers in the summer of 2019!!  I have four varieties, a traditional purple, gorgeous blue, pure white and beautiful pink ones, it is very exciting!!

I also wanted to be as eco-friendly as I could with my packaging and tried to source packaging that is either compostable or recyclable.  For more information on all the packaging please click here.

I hope that this website and social media can track this crazy, fun adventure I’ve found myself on. Please have a look around and if you have any questions, ideas, comments I’d love to hear them!!
